Get involved in our research

At the Cancer Research UK Leeds Centre we value the insight that cancer patients, their families and carers can bring to our research. Through the Public and Patient Involvement in Research (PPIR) group, patients and their families and carers can influence the scope of our research and the way that cancer trials are designed and conducted. Group members are consulted on a range of issues including clinical research activity, trial formats and public engagement initiatives. The level of commitment varies from individual to individual and is tailored to be appropriate to their interests and the time they have available. Members are invited to quarterly meetings, hosted at the Cancer Research UK Leeds Centre, but attendance is not essential and many individuals make their contributions by e-mail or post.

Peer support, training, information and mentoring are all available and new members are warmly welcomed. To join the group, or to find out more details, contact the Deputy Director of the NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility, Debbie Beirne – 0113 2067855 or
