The Centre has devoted a significant part of its resources to the infrastructure necessary to support world-class research.  We have established the Leeds Multidisciplinary Research Tissue Banks (RTBs) to underpin our research studies with a focus on renal cancer, bladder cancer, colorectal cancer, brain tumours and ovarian cancer. In addition we host the NIHR Biomarker RTB with a renal and liver disease focus which collects from multiple sites in the UK , and the Breast Cancer Campaign RTB. This investment includes a 24/7 web-based storage monitoring system. We also have a dedicated team of scientists and technical staff who run the RTBs, and research nurses who work with patients to obtain their permission to collect samples.

These RTBs are highly collaborative with the Centre being one of several funders with others including the EU and the NIHR.
